The front still looks much the
same.

The ice box has gotten a face lift.
It has been there since at least
1968 and is still running strong.
The outside of it though had
several rust spot areas coming
through where it had been
patched up before.  The rust was
scraped off, a liquid applied that
converted the remaining rust to a
polymer (stopping any more
rusting), and then galvanized
aluminum sheeting cut, fitted, and
glued over the surface - giving it a
nice, shiny look.

The plastic chairs that were out
front are stacked on the side.
Replaced by two cedar log
benches on either side of the door.

The two maps displayed in front now provide GPS
markings also.  One side shows the west side of the
lake where Bucks is, the flip side of the same map
shows the east side of the lake, going towards Hot
Springs.  Only one is up at the moment - sold the
second one to a gentleman who really, really wanted it.
Guess we'll have to get a few more in!

The roof sign still shows like the one above.  We
haven't quite had time yet to get around to painting it.
One of these days.

The store has been re-arranged inside some.  The
fishing poles are on the ceiling now...  Honest!  But
they're real easy to reach.  (Low ceiling!)

We designed and built a new counter - custom made -
with a sink in it.  The plumbing gets done a week from
now (April 17, 2006) and Bucks will have a water
purifier attached to it so folks can refill their bottled
water.  Save 'em some money and get better quality to
boot.  Ya'all will have to come in to see that!
This is what it's lookin' like right now
(April 17) as you enter the front door.

Then, off to your right and turning the
corner around the plastic lures you'll
see the refrigerator with its offerings of
bait, soft drinks, water, V-8, GatorAde
and various candy bars.

Crappie jigs and skirts are in the
corner.  There is a display for some
food items and beef jerky.
If you go straight back, you will
find yourself in the
bait room.
While we haven't had time to redo
the old sign on top of the roof, we
needed to let folks know the old
bait shop was open again.

A new sign is in the process of
being created on a 4' x 8' sheet of
plywood.

In the meantime, got the
framework up and a sheet painted
with some fabric paint -- and folks
can really see it from the road.
There's a picture of it below.

Drop in and say "Hi!"
Just in case you are checking out
the trees, the Royal Pawlonia
(sp?) trees out front got caught
by an early warm-up followed with
a freeze last year and had to get
cut back quite a bit.

Enough ... gotta get back to work!
